FEATURED SESSIONS
C-Store Armed Robbery

Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2006
2:00 PM ET – 3:00 PM ET
11:00 AM – 12:00 PM PT

We’ve heard about it far too often in the news. For some of us, we have experienced it first hand. Setting aside the business-related challenges and issues of operating a convenience store, none is more serious and sobering than the ever-present threat of armed robbery.

In a special, must-attend, CSPNetwork CyberConference on November 29, armed robbery security expert and former law enforcement officer John D. Moore, CPP, will provide an expert overview on how to manage such crises. Mr. Moore. is the author of 14 technical security manuals on armed robbery and related emergency situations for high risk business employees.

This special CyberConference is available to retailers only. Participation is free, but capacity is limited, so sign up today.

News Flash:
2006 Profit Picture – A Strategic Review

So, is 2006 good for you so far? Are profits matching those of 2005?

While this year has been a good one, CSX experts don't believe per-store pre-tax profits will match last year's record performance.

Drawing from its exclusive national database covering same-firms ' key performance indicators, CSX co-founder Dick Meyer will share the performance of same-firms' retailers for the 9 months ended September 2006 versus last year. Meyer also will highlight a handful of critical revenue and cost trends retailers need to give greater attention. He will be joined by Jeff Miller, president of Miller Oil Co. Inc., which operates more than 50 Miller's Stores and Miller's Neighborhood Markets in Virgina.

For three years, CSX has delivered through CSPNetwork CyberConference Center its exclusive insights into the convenience channel's interim financial performance. Their benchmarking tools have spurred scores of retailers to be more proactive in measuring performance by category, by line items and in the key areas of productivity.

“The depth of coverage of the information was greater than I expected,” one retailer said after CSX's most recent CSPN CyberConference in September.

“The presentation hit the high points of statistics that our company tracks,” a second retailer said. And yet a third merchant noted, “It was educational for me to see what type of data is available for corporate benchmarking.”

In December, CSX will cover third quarter year-to-date percentage changes (vs last year) in gallons sold, total inside sales and key merchandise categories. They'll examine important margin trends, including fuel cpg and in-store margin percentages, along with percentage changes in fuel and in-store gross profit dollars. They'll also examine key changes in major expenses, including store labor, utilities, property taxes and credit card fees.

More retailers are making the How's Business series by CSX part of their “required education” to see how they are performing in comparison to CSX's database. Gather your team in front of your PC on Dec. 14th and participate in a lively interactive session that we guarantee will prove timely and insightful for you and your team.
