2008 Volvo XC70 named SUV of the Year at NWAPA Mudfest
The XC70 is two vehicles in one—both of them award winners!
On-road or off-road, the Northwest Automotive Press loved the XC70! Volvo likes to call the 2008 XC70 a “crossover utility vehicle” (CUV) to distinguish it from the typical truck-like sports utility vehicle (SUV). Diehard SUV enthusiasts tend to dismiss the CUV when it comes to off-road performance. That’s why the 2008 Volvo XC70 left them speechless at the 14th Annual Sport Utility Vehicle Competition (known as “Mudfest”) put on by the Northwest Automotive Press Association (NWAPA). The XC70 won the coveted “SUV of the Year” title, beating a whole bunch of conventional SUVs in the process.
