In 2009, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), a private organization funded by the insurance industry, chose 94 different car and truck models as Top Safety Picks, based upon the vehicles' performance in crash tests and their various levels of safety equipment. This year, the organization raised the bar higher in choosing its Top Safety Picks, and just 27 vehicles made the cut. The 2010 Mercedes C-Class was one of the chosen.

Introducing the All-New 2011 E-Class Cabriolet
The 2011 E-Class cabrio replaces the CLK cabriolet .Like the CLK, it sticks with a fabric roof instead of a folding hard-top. The soft-top convertible is the first car to feature Mercedes’ new AIRCAP draught-stop, an air-deflection system that greatly reduces interior wind turbulence for all four passengers, front and back. The Cabriolet also features the AIRSCARF neck-level heating system, that blows warm air from the front seat head restraints onto the neck and shoulders of the occupants. The All New E-Class Cabriolet will be available late spring.
